Exchanging brutality for peace

1.9 Self-Defense The only legitimate use of force is in defense of individual rights — life, liberty, and justly acquired property — against aggression. This right inheres in the individual, who may agree to be aided by any other individual or group. We affirm the individual right recognized by the Second Amendment to keep and bear arms, and oppose the prosecution of individuals for exercising their rights of self-defense. Private property owners should be free to establish their own conditions regarding the presence of personal defense weapons on their own property. We oppose all laws at any level of government restricting, registering, or monitoring the ownership, manufacture, or transfer of firearms or ammunition. - lp.org/platform/

Owning, carrying, and being prepared to use a weapon is not premeditation for someone else's aggression.

An acquaintance of mine, who happens to be blind, has been assaulted repeatedly in Portland. Portland isn't Baltimore, but the right to self defense is no less prevalent and the fact that my acquaintance has been assaulted multiple times says quite a bit about the situation.

It says: Some people feel entitled and emboldened to take property from others. Some people are willing to risk their lives for someone else's property. The consequences of these actions aren't immediate and lasting enough to change their minds. Some people may no longer have anything to lose.

LE has been decimated and hamstrung by city policy and the DA has relinquished the duties of the office. This is now a lose-lose situation where government has relinquished the duties of protecting the public from abuses to their basic rights.

The issues were created by a specific group committing brutality against the public. protesting has been about police brutality; that means the police need to stop brutalizing the public.

The exchange means that the rest of society is going to have to result in brutal behaviors to exercise their right to self defense.

Stay strapped.
