After seeing this election cycle drama infused activity and the four failed recall attempts against Kate Brown, I am declaring Candidacy for Governor of the State of Oregon as a newly minted Libertarian.
The reasoning behind declaring this early is because I am a political nobody and the need to establish both a presence and a platform is paramount to a successful run in Oregon.
I believe that there is enough room in the state for a well defined middle candidate and I often find myself, firmly, in the center of the debate with enough reason to pull opposition into an actual conversation and some concession on the subject. Discussion is needed to open our state and moderation is needed to benefit the public.
Further, to my best recollection, I have not been affiliated with any party, up to this point. Until this election cycle, I had never found a party that aligned enough with my moral compass to join. I have spent months on the fence doing research and did not come to the decision to declare a party until this past week.
In trust,
R. Leon Noble Newport, OR
